The Priory CofE Primary School

FOPSA

(Friends Of the Priory School Association)

WHAT IS FOPSA?

FOPSA is The Priory’s PTA and is a registered charity (Charity Number 1107280).

It is run by a group of dedicated parent volunteers who work closely with the school to provide resources and experiences to support the children’s education and overall development.

FOPSA organises a range of events throughout the year to raise funds to support the school, whilst also helping to build a strong sense of community. Our most popular events are the Fireworks Night in November, the Parents Quiz night in April and the Summer Fair in July. We also raise funds through festive favourites like selling Christmas cards with children’s individual designs and Christmas trees. Additionally we collect Happy School Bags, a brilliant opportunity to declutter your home (through donating children and adult clothes & shoes) and support the school at the same time - as FOPSA receives money for every 1kg of donations received.

All members of the school community (parents, carers and staff) are automatically part of FOPSA and are very welcome to attend any meetings, share feedback or suggest new ideas.

WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE MONEY WE RAISE?

All funds raised through events or activities organised by FOPSA are used to benefit the children. For example during the winter term every child at The Priory partakes in Christmas shopping for their friends & family in the FOPSA gift shop and in the spring term we host a great disco party!

Recent contributions include:

  • - Brand new library
  • - Sandpit
  • - Christmas pantomimes
  • - Scooters
  • - Author workshops
  • - Playground equipment
  • - Ice lollies on Sports Day

Historical contributions include:

  • - Multi challenge climbing frame
  • - Nature trim trail
  • - Climbing wall
  • - Purple outdoor theatre
  • - Resurfacing and fencing of the football pitch

HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT FOPSA?

  1. Attend the different events and invite others along wherever possible, the more the merrier! The children love seeing their friends, family and neighbours at their school for Fireworks Night and the Summer Fair!
  2. Volunteer your time by helping at events! We simply cannot run our biggest fundraising events without the amazing support we receive from parents, carers and teachers.
  3. Host an estate agent board to advertise the Fireworks Night or the Summer Fair, help spread the news!
  4. Donate your delicious home made goods for the Pudding Auction that takes place during the Parents Quiz or donate home made or store bought treats for the cake stand at the Summer Fair.
  5. Register with Easyfundraising and choose FOPSA as your supported cause – now your online shopping turns into free donations with thousands of brands. It is incredibly quick and easy to sign up!
